Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has signed the State Biennial Budget Bill, which requires the Department of Revenue to establish a tax amnesty program for taxpayers having an update tax liability for tax that was due for a period ending before January 1, 2013.

A taxpayer is not eligible for the amnesty program for any tax liability resulting from the taxpayer’s failure to comply with the gross income tax provisions, for gambling wagering taxes, slot machine wagering tax or if the taxpayer participated in a previous amnesty program.

The amnesty program is limited to an eight week period as determined by the department which will end no later than January 1, 2017.
